Caitanya Carana dasa first listened to Tamal Krishna Goswami’s lectures as a new bhakta in the Amsterdam temple. Trying to figure out who his guru might be, he would look for audio tapes of different gurus and listen to them. He would think, “That is nice, but it isn’t my guru.” Then he would listen to another guru’s tape and think, “Nice also, but not my guru.” Then one day he found four tapes of Goswami Maharaja on his desk. “I never heard his lectures, and I didn’t know who he was, but as soon as I heard the lectures, I thought, ‘This is the one.” He listened to those four lectures all the time. He wanted to get more of Goswami Maharaja’s tapes, but it was difficult. One day he was cleaning theasrama when he found some old plastic boxes. To his surprise, one of the boxes was full of Goswami Maharaja’s lecture tapes!
